Predominantly residential, Beverlywood is known as a popular center of Jewish life in west Los Angeles. It is home to a large number of synagogues and temples, as well as kosher restaurants, delicatessens, and markets. The Museum of Tolerance is in Beverlywood. The popular Kabbalah Centre, whose ideals have attracted famous disciples such as Madonna, is based in the district. Most of Beverlywood's inhabitants live in single-family homes constructed between the 1920s and the 1950s, with the oldest homes in the north close to Beverly Hills. Contained within the district's area is the Beverlywood Homeowners Association. Homes located within the boundaries of the association generally sell for higher prices than those outside of it. The association boundaries are approximately Robertson Blvd. to the east, Airdrome St. to the north, Rancho Park to the west, and Beverlywood St. to the south. Beverlywood is part of the city of Los Angeles and is serviced by Los Angeles City Polic, Fire and School District. | ||
